Holiday adventure camps for 7-14 year olds

Wilder love delivering these extremely popular holiday adventure camps. Now in their 4th year, we offer a multi-day camp experience, providing children with an opportunity to build friendships, become familiar with the natural environment and plenty of time to adventure, play freely and explore their own interests and planned free choice activities. Each camp is unique as we change with the seasons, time of year, children’s interests, what’s catching our attention in nature and of course the weather! We love the fact that so many children return each year, enjoying a balance between welcoming familiar routines and spontaneous adventure. Our woodland camps take place in Lochend Community Woodland in Dunbar. These woods are wonderfully cared for by the Dunbar Community Woodland Group. Our beach camps take place at Belhaven Beach where we have the opportunity to use the Belhaven Surf Centre as a base and explore both the estuary mouth, sandy bay and rocky shore!

At our Wilder camps we aim to offer children experiences around fire (fire safety and building and cooking), Shelter (knots, den building and bushcraft shelter), nature study (plant and animal studies, wildlife tracking, trail camera set up, foraging), natural crafts (creative use of site found materials and naturally occurring materials such as clay), tools (whittling, sawing, pruning, lopping, axe cutting), conservation (leave no trace, litter picks, improving biodiversity, awareness of human impact and promotion of sustainable values), community building (group time, team building, reflection) and mindful practices (making music, movement, quiet time, sensory exploration).
